ABOUT KATERI
SEEKER. EXPLORER. ARTIST. WRITER
For as long as I can remember, I've been pulled to all things creative. Whether that's experimenting with form in essay writing, or experimenting with different media in Illustration, I love it all.
I grew up in Colorado hiking through the Rockies, developing a thirst for nature and adventure. I've always had the desire to document those experiences- to turn memory into artifact with pen, pencil, and page.

My dad, a painter and graphic designer taught me to draw when I was just a little girl, and after he died, it made me want to follow in his footsteps even more. He's the reason that I've learned to love illustration and design, and continues to inspire me every time I dip a paintbrush into watercolor.

He's also the reason I write and try to understand my relationship to the outdoors and the mountains to the west of where I live.

Illustrating and designing professionally for six years, I eventually paired that with my love for writing four years ago. I earned an MFA from the Mile High MFA at Regis University and have had numerous essays published. I've had the opportunity to work with some amazing clients like Core Power Yoga and The Colorado Mountain Club, and can't wait to continue working with individuals and brands who want to elevate their work through creativity.

I am the illustrator of The Magic Ticket, a children's book about grief and the healing power of books that was written by David Hicks.

When I'm not chasing mountain tops or sketching lakeside, I drink entirely too much coffee, bake excessively, and climb rocks.
